HUMAN TRIALS HAVE SHOWN GLA MAY COMBAT PROSTATE CANCER

Preventing Prostate Cancer

Prostate cancer is the second leading cause of cancer deaths in American men, and most elderly men have some abnormal prostate cells. Fortunately, GLA (Gamma Linolenic Acid) has been widely tested in vitro, in vivo and in human research and has revealed that this essential fatty acid may suppress cancer tumor growth via reducing the generaton of PGE2 and 5S-HETE, which promote uterine contraction in the growth of prostate cancer cells. GLA is a strong inhibitor of the activity of 5-alpha reductase, the enzyme that irreversibly converts testosterone to Dihydrotestosterone, a form that binds more avidly to the prostrate and stimulates greater growth.

ANTHOCYANINS FOR MEN’S HEALTH

In addition to GLA, blackcurrant anthocyanins extract, containing a very unique four-anthocyanins composition, boasts a strong antioxidant activity that combats urinary tract infections and is thought to have anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer effects. Active Cassis Extract is an amazing natural antioxidant with an impressive ORAC value of 6,800 µmole TE/g, which promotes increased peripheral blood flow.
